- Foundation class to include health agencies and information, the delivery of health services and health instruction for the individual, family and community. Special emphasis given to the dynamics of family as a user/recipient of services.
Fundamentals of diet, exercise, metabolism, weight control and maturational development.
- A study of physiological bases of physical activity with emphasis given to the special effects of exercise on body function, health-related fitness, nutrition and sports performance. Prerequisite: PED 200
- Students learn how to test the components of fitness and prepare for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) exam. Emphasis is on exercise prescription.
